Description
Improvements to existing quay head in a tidal estuary. Works included :-
Removal of front face of existing hardwood timber cladding planks from timber piles supporting the quay wall.
Installation of new interlocking sheet piles between timber piles and re-fixing timber cladding.
Some of this work required divers, due to being permanently under water.
Improvements to two adjacent slipways including new timber piled hardwood walling.
Reinforced concrete Hard standing on CFA piled reinforced concrete ground beams.
New dockside furniture and services.
Quay lies within SSSI and was in constant use by leisure craft, local fishermen and the adjacent boatyard.
